Police warn of robberies on Near West Side

Police issued a community alert this afternoon warning of a series of robberies in the city's West Town neighborhood.
The victims were approached while they were walking or sitting in their vehicles. They were robbed of their property and vehicles by gunpoint.
The robberies occurred in the early- morning hours on the 200 block of North Green Street and 900 and 1100 block of West Randolph Street.
The robbers present themselves as security guards and officers.
Police described the robbers as two black men between the ages to 35 to 45, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing between 200 to 250 pounds.
