Firefighters discover burned woman inside Wicker Park apartment

Chicago firefighters responding to reports of smoke inside a Wicker Park apartment building this morning discovered a woman burned over most of her body.

The fire inside the four-story building in the 1500 block of North Hoyne Avenue was already out by the time fire crews arrived for the 5:11 a.m. incident.
But firefighters found a woman in her 60s with burns on about 90 percent of her body.
The woman was taken by advanced life-support ambulance to Stroger Hospital
