At about 7:00 p.m., three men in a Jeep Cherokee were shot, one fatally, in the 600 block of West 115th Street in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side. The three were driven to Roseland Hospital after someone shot up their truck.
They were eastbound on 115th Street and pulled up to a stop sign when someone inside a dark sedan pulled alongside and opened fire.
A 29-year-old man died after getting shot in the back and leg, a 30-year-old man was shot in the right elbow and a third man, 30, suffered a graze wound to the head.
The dead man was in the front passenger seat, Alfaro said. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Lamont Coleman, of the 300 block of West 116th Street. He was pronounced dead at 7:39 p.m.
The driver was the 30-year-old man struck in the right elbow and the other man was in the back seat
