Woman fatally struck by Metra train on South Side

A woman was struck and killed by a Metra Rock Island train this morning in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side.
The accident happened about 7 a.m. near 95th Street and Vincennes Avenue.
An empty outbound Metra Rock Island train struck a pedestrian. The train was to arrive in Blue Island
UPDATE:
Gardenia Boyer, 23, of the 9200 block of South May Street, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
