A child and a man were wounded during a shooting Sunday night in the Scottsdale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
About 7:30 pm., someone shot the two in the 8000 block of South Knox Avenue.
A man in his 20s suffered a gunshot wound to his body while the juvenile had a graze wound.
Both victims were taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The boy, 4, was shot in the upper abdomen area
UPDATE:
The 4-year-old was sitting on his father’s lap and seated in the front passenger seat of a parked vehicle when the incident occurred.
A male relative was in the driver’s seat and as the two men were talking, a gunman approached the driver’s side window and said “what the fuck".
When the relative rolled down the window to find out what he wanted, the assailant raised a handgun at them and opened fire.
The father and son were shot when the relative leaned back to avoid being shot.
The assailant got into a maroon colored Jeep Cherokee that fled northbound on Kilpatrick
