Police issued a community alert today after a Saturday strong-arm robbery on the South Side in which three robbers took an iPad from a 22-year-old man.
The robbery happened shortly before 5 p.m. on the 3200 block of South State Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood. According to preliminary reports, the victim was approached by two men who exited a Pontiac and took his iPad and headphones.
The men then got back into the car before fleeing northbound on State Street and then east on 31st Street, police said. A woman was driving the getaway car.
The car was described as a black 4-door Pontiac Grand Prix between the years of 1998 to 2002.
Police described the driver as a female between the ages of 20 to 30, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds with a medium complexion. One of the robbers was described as a male with a medium complexion between the ages of 20 to 30 and weighing about 170 pounds. He is about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, police said. Police said the second robber was also a male with no description of age, height or weight.
