Chicago restaurants aren't lining up to take part in a smaller Taste of Chicago this summer.
The city has given restaurants until Friday to apply to participate in Taste after just 44 eateries met the original Tuesday deadline.
A total of 59 restaurants took part in 2011, but this year's Taste is expected to include just 35 to 40 for the entire festival.
