The group – also known as CMOD – was described by police as a motorcycle and car club.
The club occupied the first floor of a building on the 3400 block of West Lake Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. Upstairs was a church.
Police said responding officers heard gunfire when they arrived and some people tried to flee by getting into the club.
Cops counted about 240 people but the club didn’t have a posted occupancy limit.
Police arrested and charged 6 adults and 2 juveniles with a variety of crimes.
Police said three of the adults were acting as security guards: Lafaye Chew, 42, of the 100 block of North Lotus Avenue; Rocco Vaughn, 26, of the 3800 block of West Madison Street; and Gregory Peters, 19, of the 100 block of North Lotus Avenue. They were charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.
Police found shell casings outside the entrance to the club and seized about $4,000 in cash from the event.
Three other adults were charged with operating under a cease and desist order and other license violations. The club has no license to operate and served and allowed liquor at the party.
Two of those three identified themselves as the "president" and "first lady" of the club.
Two other boys, both 17, were arrested on battery charges after a “tussle” with police
