Chicago police officials have issued a community alert after a series of vehicular hijackings occurred on the Southwest Side.
Police said there have been four incidents between January and February where people have had their vehicles taken by force or a threat of force.
In each of the incidents the person was either entering, exiting or sitting in parked cars.
The first incident happened on Jan. 31 at about 5:40 p.m. on the 4800 block of South Wolcott Avenue, police said. A second incident happened on the same block on Feb. 12, at 2:50 p.m.
That same day on Feb. 12, on at 7:30 p.m. an incident happened on the 5100 block of South Wolcott Avenue. Then on Feb 18, a fourth incident happened on the 2400 block of West 35th Street at a 12:32 a.m..
The suspects are described as male and wearing hooded sweatshirts, police said.
