Bullet hits police SUV as officers investigate crash

Two Ogden District police officers were uninjured when a bullet hit the rear of their police SUV as they waited for a tow truck for a vehicle that had been in an accident in Lawndale early this morning.
The officers were near 13th Street and Lawndale Avenue, inside the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, when they heard a gunshot and felt something hit the SUV about 3:30 a.m.,.
The officers were unable to figure out where the round came from, but found that it struck their vehicle on the rear tailgate, just above the license plate.
