Police shot at a man who was later taken into custody after they interrupted a shooting that left a 22-year-old seriously wounded in Bronzeville this afternoon.
Police were responding to a shots fired call near Champlain Avenue and 47th Street when they saw a 22-year-old man being shot.
The offender then pointed his gun at police, who fired their weapons but didn't hit the man.
Police took the shooter into custody and no officers were injured in the incident.
The 22-year-old victim was being treated for gunshot wounds to his back, arm and hand at Stroger Hospital in serious but stable condition.
