A teenager was shot in the head, mouth and chest and critically injured in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood this afternoon.
A 16-year-old boy was standing on the street in the 3100 block of West 63rd Street about 4 p.m. when he was shot
A police source said the teen was shot three times by a person who approached him on the street.
A witness said he thought he saw the shooter rifling through the teen’s pockets after he fell to the ground.
Police found no identifying information on the teen and believe it might have been a robbery, but are not sure yet and are pursuing all possible scenarios.
The teen was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn,.
The victim was in critical condition when taken to the hospital
