Two female teens have been charged over a fight at Sullivan High School and Chicago Public Schools officials are investigating.
The fight occurred Oct. 6 during a biology class at the North Side school and led to a 14-year-old girl being pulled by the hair, having her head banged against a desk and getting knocked to the ground, according to authorities and cell phone video of the fight.
CPS officials said a teacher tried to break up the fight.
Teachers are not obligated to intervene in a fight, but are supposed to call security guards, district authorities said.
Security at the school at 6631 N. Bosworth Ave. was able to eventually stop the fight. A 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman have been charged with misdemeanor battery, according to Chicago police.
