One person was wounded in a Chicago-police involved shooting Tuesday in the South Side's Englewood neighborhood.
No officers were hurt, but the extent of the civilian's wounds was not immediately known.
The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. at West 73rd and South Morgan Streets, police said.
Police said that Englewood District officers tried do a field interview at the intersection when the incident happened.
"The offender refused to stop, pulled a gun from his waistband, and pointed it at the officers as he attempted to flee eastbound on 73rd Street," according to a police statement.
An officer fired at the man, hitting him. He was taken to a local hospital, and a gun was recovered from the scene.
