Man shot in head drives himself to South Side hospital

A man shot in the back of the head this morning remained lucid enough to drive himself six blocks to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The 36-year-old man was inside his Ford Focus when a gunshot struck him in the head in the 1300 block of East 74th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood at about 12:03 a.m., police said.

Still conscious and able to talk, the man drove to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where he told his tale to police.
