A 23-year-old man died at an area hospital not long after Chicago police discovered his bullet-riddled body on a Far South Side street.
Officers found Dominque Blackmon unresponsive at about 10 p.m. Monday in the 10100 block of South Perry Avenue in the Fernwood neighborhood, citing early reports. Blackmon, of the 8800 block of South Carpenter Street, had been shot mulitple times in the face and body.
He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
Police suspect the shooting was gang or drug-related, with a source adding that witnesses interviewed at the scene weren't cooperative with responding officers.
