Chicago police said after Daryl Russel,l A Broadview man, implied that he had a handgun to rob a 65-year-old woman of $25 at the CTA Red Line's North Avenue stop around 4 p.m. today, the striped-shirted robber hopped down on the train tracks and ran south.
When Near North District officers responded, multiple witnesses gave them detailed description of the robber. Soon, the officers noticed that a man who matched the robber's description -- down to his shirt -- was standing amongst the crowd.
Officers immediately took Russell, 31 into custody. He was later charged with aggravated robbery and criminal trespass to CTA property.
