An off-duty Cook County sheriff's deputy was injured this morning when his motorcycle was sideswiped by a passing truck on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
The collision happened on the southbound express lanes near the 63rd Street exit sometime before 2 a.m..
The unidentified officer was headed south when a black pickup truck clipped his motorcycle, dumping the rider to the roadway.
The pickup continued without stopping.
The officer was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries, which were not believed life-threatening. Early reports stated the officer suffered bumps and scrapes from the collision and at least one broken rib.
