the media over-hyped Hurricane Irene – and so did the Obama White House, hoping to make the president look like a hero.
As part of the hype, government talking heads went on TV, assuring Americans that FEMA and "all aspects of the federal family" were "working as one."
Michael Savage found such talk anything but reassuring, telling listeners Tuesday night:
"This is the new low for Obama: they're now changing the word 'government' to 'family.'
"That's what Napolitano and Carney are calling it now: the 'federal family.'
"We know about 'newspeak' from books about propaganda, but under Obama, it's taken on a new meaning.
"Why do you think they dropped the word 'government'? Because they know you hate government. You understand that government is a band of thieves.
"The last 'family' I heard about was the Sopranos, and before that the Corleones in The Godfather. But now we have a new 'family' called 'Federal.'

"Do you feel safer now? You shouldn't. You should be terrified".
