A man and woman were shot and critically injured this morning as they sat in a vehicle on the city's South Side, police said.
The couple was sitting in the vehicle in the 7200 block of South Dobson Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood just before 12:30 a.m., when police said a gunman inside a dark-colored vehicle pulled up alongside them and opened fire.
The man, 54, was struck in the eye, while the woman, 56, was struck in the head, said police, citing early reports. Despite the wounds, both victims were talking at the scene and were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
