A gun-toting man running from police died after he suffered multiple cuts running through a glass door, authorities said this morning.
Officers saw the man firing a gun in the air just before 8:30 p.m. in a vacant lot in the the 6200 block ofSouth Vernon Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him this morning as Jonrynn Avery, 24, of the same block.

As Avery ran from officers into his residence, he crashed through a glass door, suffering multiple lacerations, police said.
He was taken toStroger Hospital , where he was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m.
