Early this morning, a 20-year-old man was shot after the car he was in collided with another car about 1 a.m. as the driver tried to escape from a gunman in a pursuing car in the Calumet Heights neighborhood, police said.
The man was in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center after being shot in the shoulder, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.
The car the man was in was being pursued by another car west on 87th Street and when the driver in the car being chased tried to turn onto Stony Island Avenue, the car collided with a third vehicle, said Chicago Police News Affairs Office John Mirabelli. Someone in the pursuing vehicle then fired into the car, striking the 20-year-old, and then fled, Mirabelli said.
