A police officer shot a man while responding to a burglary-in-progress call this morning near the United Center on the Near West Side officials said.
The incident happened about 6:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Monroe Street, said Chicago Police Officer Michael Sullivan, citing preliminary information.
Details were not immediately available. Shots were fired and an officer fired a gun, hitting another person, who was taken to Stroger Hospital, Sullivan said. That person's condition was not known.
