Bail was denied today for a man charged with the shooting death of a victim who was waiting to fix a fuse in his car at a South Side gas station.
Darien Harris, 18, of the 1000 block of West 104th Place is charged with first-degree murder in the death and was denied bail today by Cook County Judge Peggy Chiampas. Harris also is charged with aggravated battery in connection with the shooting and wounding of another man who was helping the victim fix his vehicle, officials said.

The victim, Rondell Moore, 23, drove to the gas station with two passengers, according to court records. Moore exited his vehicle and opened the hood while the passengers stayed inside the car.
Moore and the second victim, 51, were working underneath the hood when Harris was dropped off in the parking lot by someone driving a black Lexus, records stated.
The Lexus drove off, but Harris walked up to Moore's vehicle, stood next to the driver's side back door and shot at Moore several times, according to the proffer read during the bail hearing. Harris then shot the other victim. When he attempted to shoot the person sitting in the backseat of the car, the gun click as if it was out of bullets, prosecutors said.
Moore was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office. The other victim also was taken to the hospital in critical condition with wounds to his chest and arm, police said.
If convicted, Harris faces up to a life South Stony Island Avenue, police said.
