Three men were charged today in connection with a shooting Wednesday morning on the Near West Side that left four people wounded.
Lavelle Alford, 18, Marcus Daniels, 31, and Demetrius Schaffer, 26, were each charged with four counts of aggravated battery, police said. In addition, Daniels was charged with aggravated fleeing from police, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and traffic violations.
The shooting happened at about 2:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Washburne Avenue. Officers patrolling there witnessed men shooting at a Nissan Altima with four people inside, police said.

Three of the victims, a 21-year-old man, and two girls, ages 13 and 16, were taken to University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, where they were treated and released for non-serious gunshot wounds.
The fourth victim, a 27-year-old woman, was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
