Man shot in South Shore neighborhood dies

A man who was shot in the South Shore neighborhood and drove himself to the hospital Thursday evening has died.
Daryl Davis, 27, of the 7800 of South Yates Avenue, was shot multiple times in the 2000 block of East 71st Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
At 9:05 p.m., Davis, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were standing on the street when three attackers approached them wearing black hoodies and fired at them, striking them all, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
Davis suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen, Kubiak said. The 19-year-old suffered a gunshot wound in his leg and buttocks while the 18-year-old was shot in his leg, she said.
Davis was pronounced dead at 11:21 p.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, said a medical examiner's spokesman. The other two men were listed in stable condition.
