A 19-year-old man was shot and killed this morning as he waited at a bus stop in the Roseland neighborhood on the city's Far South Side, police said.
The shooting happened at about 2:40 a.m. near the intersection of 107th Street and Michigan Avenue, authorities said.
The victim was standing with his brother at the bus stop when a gunshot rang out and he was struck in the head, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but no other injuries were reported, police said.
The victim was identified as Aaron Leonard, of the 10800 block of South Wentworth Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police didn't have a description of the gunman. It wasn't immediately clear whether the victim's brother got a look at the gunman. Police didn't offer a motive to slaying, saying the victim didn't appear to have a criminal background or a known gang affiliation.
