Mayor Rahm Emanuel today ordered the Chicago Park District, Chicago Housing Authority and other city agencies to stop using credit cards after a preliminary review revealed some employees used them to pay off red-light camera tickets and pay for gifts and expensive dinners.
The missive went to the city’s so-called sister agencies, including the Chicago Housing Authority, Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, the CTA and park district. Emanuel stated that the misuse of the individual credit cards had “been brought to my attention.”
