CHICAGO BRINGING YOU MORE OF THE LIBERAL ANYTHING GOES SOCIETY, WHICH BRINGS US TO FLASH MOBS AND WILDING, INNER CITY SHOOTINGS AND KILLINGS. NO WONDER SUPER LIBERAL MAYOR RAHM EMANUEL HAD TO LIE ABOUT THE NORTH AVE. BEACH PROBLEM.
More than two dozen couples are to take part in civil union ceremonies in Chicago's Millennium Park today with Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Gov. Pat Quinn in attendance.
The ceremonies are planned the day after civil union licenses were first made available in Illinois. Scores of same-sex partners across the state applied for licenses under a new Illinois law that recognizes them as couples for the first time.
City officials say 30 couples will participate in the civil union ceremonies. Cook County Circuit Chief Judge Timothy Evans will officiate.
According to state law couples must wait until the day after they secure licenses to have a civil union ceremony.
Ceremonies will include a string quartet and the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus will perform.
Emanuel calls the ceremonies a "historic milestone."
