A 27-year-old man was wounded tonight in an apparent drive-by shooting in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the Near Southwest Side, police said.
Police believe that a late model tan Chevrolet Trail Blazer pulled up alongside the man as he was getting in his vehicle on the 2200 block of South Wood Street at 7:05 p.m. and someone from inside opened fire.
The man was hit in both arms and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had been stabilized and his wounds were believed to be non-life-threatening.
No one was in custody as of about 8 p.m. Friday night, police said. Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
