Authorities formally charged a female robbery suspect shot and wounded by police this week, as well as her male accomplice, police said today.
Tiffani A. Jacobs, 29, who police said tried to run down officers when they approached to question her about an armed robbery, was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, aggravated fleeing and aggravated assault to a government employee, according to Chicago police.
Her accomplice, Floyd May, 38, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated fleeing and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, police said.
The suspects, both of the 300 block of South Central Park Boulevard, could appear before a judge today.
Officers from the Mobile Strike Force wounded Jacobs after they say she drove at them as they tried to question her about an armed robbery at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5600 block of West Irving Park Road
The shooting occurred about six miles from an armed robbery that police suspect the couple committed just before the shooting. Police recovered suspected proceeds from that robbery.
May was released from the Pontiac Correctional Center in April after serving about 13 years of a 27-year prison sentence for armed robbery, according to state records.
