MAN SHOT 16 YR GIRL SHOT DEAD
A 16-year-old girl was shot dead early this morning on the South Side on the 1300 block of West 52nd Street, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office. She was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m. at the Stein Institute. She was identified as Karla Allen of the 5400 block of South May Street.
Preliminary reports said a 26-year-old man and the girl were driving when someone pulled along side of them and fired shots into the car. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to his back.
