A 32-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday in the South Deering neighborhood on the city's Southeast Side, authorities said.
Julian Montejano, of the 10800 block of South Hoxie Avenue, was shot in the chest around 6:30 p.m. on the 10500 block of South Hoxie Avenue, authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at Advocate Trinity Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities hadn't made any arrests and offered no motive for the shooting.
