Two cars crashed in the West Loop this morning, with one of them crashing through the window of a Dunkin' Donuts shop.
Police said the two drivers were the only injured in the mishap and were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.
"The car just sped up, I think trying to avoid another car," said Joan Richards, manager of the store at 211 W. Adams St. of the Toyota that she said had come to rest inside the doughnut shop about 5:45 a.m.
"The car is in my store," she said.
Richards said two people on the street were hit by one of the cars, but Police News Affairs Officer said the drivers were the only injured and that no pedestrians had been struck. The cause of the accident was under investigation.
Richards said none of the two customers and two other workers in the store at the time were injured
