Chicago police are investigating a shooting this evening in the South Side's Chatham neighborhood in which a 16-year-old boy was injured.
The incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. in the 400 block of East 79th Street, said Chicago Police Officer Veejay Zala. The teen was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, he said.
Police said the teen was standing in the doorway of a store when a gunman approached and opened fire.
