Police said a Southwest Side woman blamed vodka for a domestic destruction spree they claim ended with her trying to draw an officer’s gun from its holster.
Krystina Stoch, 50, of the 5800 block of South McVicker Avenue was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bond Saturday in Cook County Criminal Court on charges of attempting to disarm an officer, two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest.
“I didn’t do it,” she protested to Judge Adam D. Bourgeois Jr.
“You cannot fight the police,” he said.
Two police officers arrived at Stoch’s home Friday about 5 p.m. to find her throwing glass objects, cursing and blocking paramedics from giving aid to her husband, according to a police report. Her public defender said her husband recently had a stroke.
She swore at the police and threatened them and started “violently swinging her arms,” the report said. She then put both hands on one officer’s gun and tugged at it before she was subdued, the report said.
Police said she later attributed her behavior to vodka, which she said “she rarely drinks.”
