A third man has been charged in the beating death of a man outside a Little Village bar this week.
Mario Ascencio, 40, of the 2600 block of South St. Louis Avenue was charged this morning with first-degree murder in the slaying of Armando Corral outside La Roka bar at 30th Street and South St. Louis Avenue early Monday. Judge Israel Desierto set bail for Ascencio at $500,000 in a hearing in Cook County Court midday today.
Adrian Garcia, 27, and Mauricio Ortiz, 20, both appeared in court on Wednesday to have bail set on first-degree murder charges in the slaying.
Prosecutors said Corral had been sitting by himself drinking a beer at the bar. As he was leaving the bar, just before 2 a.m. Monday, the three men followed him outside and attacked him from behind, striking him over the head with beer bottles and then punching and stomping him while he was motionless on the ground.
Ascencio worked at a Near North deli and was arrested at a South Loop restaurant Wednesday morning, according to a police report.
