2 wounded in separate shootings on South Side

Two men were wounded in separate shootings Tuesday on the city's South and Far South Sides, officials said.
The first shooting happened shortly before 2 p.m. on the 100 block of West 109th Street in the city's Roseland neighborhood, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to Roseland Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Later Tuesday night, a man, described as in his 30s, was shot in the city's Bronzeville neighborhood, Alfaro said.
That shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m. on the 100 block of East 47th Street. Preliminary reports said the man was walking on the sidewalk when a suspect approached him from behind and shot him in the abdomen, right leg and right hand. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition has stabilized, Alfaro said.
As of 3 a.m., no one was in custody for either shootings. Wentworth Area and Calumet Area detectives were investigating.
