Man fatally shot in Southwest Side drive-by

A man walking on a Southwest Side street was killed in a Saturday afternoon drive-by shooting.

The man — identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as 38-year-old David Lucas — was shot about 2:50 p.m. in the 6500 block of South California Avenue.

Police said the man was walking when a light-colored four-door vehicle approached, a gunman exited and began shooting then fled in the vehicle.

2 teens shot in MArquette Park

At about 8:25 p.m., two teens, ages 17 and 18, were shot on the 6600 block of South Mozart Street.
The 17-year-old boy suffered a wound to his thigh. The second victim was shot in the foot. Both were reported in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Man shot dead with shotgun in Marquette Park

Shooting involved a man, identified only as being his 20s, suffering a shotgun wound to the chest at about 9:50 p.m. in the 2600 block of West 68th Street, authorities said. The man was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Man shot and killed in Marquette Park

A  man was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting while walking on a Southwest Side street Friday morning.
The 22-year-old victim was walking in the 7100 block of South Rockwell Street in Marquette Park about 11:52 a.m. Friday when he was shot in the head by someone riding in a passing vehicle.
The victim, identified as Blair Davis, 22, of the 1300 block of South Independence Boulevard, was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m. Friday afternoon.

2 wounded in Marquette Park neighborhood shooting

Two men were shot and wounded as they sat in a car in the Southwest Side’s Marquette Park neighborhood this afternoon.
A 24-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition after being shot in the 7100 block of South Washtenaw Avenue about 2:45 p.m.
A 20-year-old man was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital from the same location.
The two men were in a car when they were attacked.
The older man, who police said was 23, was shot in the leg, and the younger man was injured when he was cut by glass from the car in the shooting.

MAN SHOT IN MARQUETTE PARK AREA

At 1:57 a.m. in the Marquette Park neighborhood, a male was shot in the leg in the 6500 block of South Washtenaw Avenue. He was listed in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
No one was in custody for any of the incidents and area detectives are investigating.

Man shot dead leaving South Side gas station

A 19-year-old man was shot dead and another man seriously wounded Sunday night as  they were driving away from a gas station in the city's Marquette Park neighborhood on the South Side.
Lemont Gogins, of the 7000 block of South Hermitage Avenue, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
About 8:40 p.m., Gogins was a passenger in a car leaving a gas station on the 2800 block of West 71st Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak. As the car was pulling out, a gunman walked up to the passenger side and fired several shots, striking Gogins in the head.
he other occupant of the car, also 19, suffered a wound to his shoulder and was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Kubiak said.
The shooting was possibly gang-related, Kubiak said. As of 6:30 a.m., no one was in custody for the slaying. Wentwroth Area detectives were investigating.
