Eliseo Cabrales, 38, faces a charge of felony manufacturing and delivery of more than 900 grams of cocaine, and Jesus Lopez, 54, faces a charge of felony posession of more than 900 grams of cocaine.
Chicago Narcotics officers were in the 2400 block of West 51st about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday when the officers saw Cabrales deliver a package containing what was thought to be drugs to a vehicle Lopez was driving. The officers stopped the vehicle and found out there were 2 kilograms—about 4.4 pounds—of cocaine in the package.
The officers arrested Cabrales, who lives on the block, and Lopez, of the 4900 block of South Wolcott Avenue. The officers later found another 41.8 pounds of cocaine, more than 11 pounds of methamphetamine and a semi-automatic handgun in an apartment on the block that was not believed to be Cabrales’ residence
