Three people were hurt when gunshots were fired into a lounge in the 1100 block
of West 63rd Street, in the Englewood neighborhood.
Police said a group of four people approached the lounge, and after they were
denied entry at least one of them opened fire toward the doorway.
A 31-year-old man shot in the abdomen was taken by ambulance to John H.
Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in serious condition.
Police also found a 30-year-old man who had been shot when they stopped a van
seen leaving the scene. The man had been struck in the abdomen and foot, and was
being driven by a friend to a local hospital.
He was taken from the scene of the traffic stop, near the intersection of
West 64th Street and South Elizabeth Street, to Advocate Christ Medical Center
in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.
