3 charged in armed robbery of boy, 14

Three men were ordered held today after being charged with robbing a 14-year-old boy at gun point Friday night in the Chatham neighborhood.
The men were riding in a gray 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix when they saw the boy and stopped to confront him at about 9:46 p.m. in the 600 block of East 85th Street.
Darius T. Redd, 21, pointed at the boy's pockets with a .22-caliber revolver while Cornell J. Bryant, 27, removed a Boost Mobile Kyocera cell phone from them.
The men also took a backpack containing white gym shoes and a state ID.
Later that night, police pulled over the car and noticed a passenger acting nervous with the cell phone in his hands. Police recovered the cell phone as well as the gun, which they found on a floor board on the passenger side.
Redd, of the 400 block of East 48th Street, and Bryant, of the 8000 block of South Carpenter Street, have been charged with armed robbery, as well as Early D. Ware, 23, who was identified as the driver of the car during the incident. Redd also faces weapons charges.
