The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the man killed as Eulises Grandos, 22, of the 2400 block of South Central Park Avenue in Chicago. Grandos was one of two men shot about 2:05 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of West Cermak Road in the Pilsen neighborhood. He was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition but later died.
Another man, 21, was shot in the head in the same incident, which followed an "altercation" at a bar. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital though his condition wasn't available from police. The two were in a car when an SUV pulled alongside and someone opened fire; two other people were inside the car but were not wounded. The car tried to flee the shooters in the SUV but hit a tree about a block west, near 1400 West Cermak Road.
