A second victim of a shooting that happened about two weeks ago in the city's East Chatham neighborhood has died from his injuries.
Robert Murphy III, 30, was pronounced dead at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Stroger
Murphy and another man, Anthony Williamson, 49, were seated in a vehicle when
they got into an argument with a third man
About 9 a.m. that day, the two pulled off, but a man, later identified as
Terry Burnett of Harvey, walked up to the car near the intersection of 82nd
Street and Maryland Avenue and fired several times.
After the shooting, the car struck three other vehicles and came to rest near
82nd Street and Drexel Boulevard. Williamson stumbled from the car and was
pronounced dead at the scene.
Lewis was taken in critical condition in an "incapacitated state". He died this morning.
Burnett fled the scene with a gun in his hand, and was later identified by
witnesses in a photo line-up in Harvey on Oct. 22.
Burnett, 35, was charged Thursday with first-degree murder, attempted murder,
aggravated battery and discharge of a fire arm
