A Chicago police officer shot and killed a man who was waving a butcher knife
during a domestic disturbance in a Bridgeport home early Friday morning.
Felix Valdez, 44 was shot around 1:10 a.m. in his
apartment in the 3200 block of South Halsted Street, the same block as the
parking garage for the 9th District police station
Officers were sent to the second-floor apartment above Taqueria San Jose for a
domestic disturbance, according to Patrick Camden, spokesman for the Fraternal
Order of Police .
The man had apparently beaten his girlfriend and was standing
over her holding two knives.
An officer told the man to drop the knife three times and,
when he didn't, she shot him, Camden said. Neighbors reported hearing as many as
five shots.
The police department's statement said the man lunged at the
officers instead of complying with their commands.
The officer was taken
to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center for observation, shook up after the
shooting but otherwise uninjured

As far as him being your uncle, this wasn't his first time doing this. Police had been there before on several occasions. That's a fact you should be talking about as a relative. What did you do to try and stop his behavior before this . . . chirp, chirp, . . . obviously nothing. So yes BELIEVE what is being said about your uncle by others.
