DUI charges have been filed against a 19-year-old man in connection with a weekend crash that left a woman dead and two others injured.
Kevin P. Rawley, of the 12800 block of South Justine Street, was
charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound, aggravated
driving under the influence, causing an accident and a fatality, disobeying a
signal stop and operating a vehicle without insurance.
Police said Rawley was behind the wheel of a 1999 white Infiniti
sedan, traveling west on 63rd Street around 2:25 a.m. Sunday, when he ran a red
traffic signal, according to a witness.
A 2002 black Nissan sedan had the
green light on Woodlawn Avenue and struck the Infiniti, causing the Infiniti to
spin out of control and crash into a utility pole.

Avenue, died about 3:40 a.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
A 22-year-old male passenger in the
Infiniti was taken to University of Chicago Hospital, where her condition was
stabilized. A 19-year-old female passenger in the Infiniti refused medical
The 26-year-old male driver of the Nissan and his 26-year-old
female passenger refused medical attention. Rawley was transported to
Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.
