The dismembered body found buried in plastic bags Friday in the backyard of a Southwest Side home belongs to a man whose ex-girlfriend had lured him there to his death.
An autopsy performed today found the the victim, whose identity has not been
released yet, died of multiple sharp force injuries from an assault. The death was ruled a homicide.
Police said no charges have been filed yet as they question the 19-year-old
woman and her 56-year-old male relative while seeking another man, a fugitive
who authorities say may have fled to New Jersey.
Police said the victim, a man from the Humboldt Park neighborhood in his late
20s, was lured to the home in the 8300 block of South Scottsdale Avenue by the
19-year-old. Once there, her new boyfriend pummeled the victim over the head
with a pipe and slashed his throat with a knife, killing him.
