Police shot a woman who they said pointed a gun toward them Thursday night in
a Pilsen alley.
A group of people called 911 after a woman pointed a gun at them in the 1000
block of West Cullerton Street about 10:30 p.m.
The woman had been walking with the gun exposed when the group approached
her. The woman continued north on Morgan Street and west into an alley between
19th Street and Cullerton Street.
According to police, when civilian-dressed officers approached her in the
alley, the woman pointed the gun toward them. She matched a description provided
to police by the group that called 911. Police fired at her, hitting her several
times.
The officers had announced that they were police before shooting.
Fraternal Order of Police Spokesman Patrick Camden said the weapon was a BB
gun and that she had ducked behind a garbage can before poking back up and
pointing the weapon toward the police.
"Nobody's going to wait around to see if it's real or a toy," Camden
said.
The woman, between the ages of 18 and 24, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr.
Hospital of Cook County.

I live on the block and it all happened so quickly. About 20 minutes after the incident another woman came into the crowd asking questions. She asked if it was a woman and if she had been seriously hurt, we advised that if she was family to speak to police and she took off running. She was high, sloppy in sweats and had a black eye, i'm sure her friend who got shot was high as well.
In other news. Last night a women was alone in an alley when multiple groups of people approached her. While trying to hide and protect herself, plain clothes police officers shot her SEVEN times.
Every one knows no one claims to be police when they aren't.
Every one knows large groups of people never harass individuals.
I'm not saying there wasn't something wrong with her. Just that you shouldn't jump to conclusions, and shooting someone several times is a little overboard. We live in a scary city these days, and the police need to take that into account when interacting with people, especially if they aren't in uniform.

When she was pointing the gun and supposedly shooting, no noise, no muzzle flash?? But she wanted to die and 7 shots couldn't do it, what are the cops using BB guns as well?
