Boy, 15, shot during robbery outside Roosevelt High School
A 15-year-old boy was in good condition after being shot outside Roosevelt High
School on the Northwest Side this afternoon.
The boy, a student at the school, was at a bus stop in the 4700 block of North Kimball Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood when two "juveniles" shot him while trying to rob him around 2:25 p.m.
The robbers, who apparently are not students at the school, were arrested and were being questioned by police. A gun was recovered.
The boy was shot in the thigh and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in good condition, said Chicago Fire Department Spokesman Larry Langford. The high school is at 3436 W. Wilson Ave.
The shooting occurred as classes let out.
20-year-old man shot in Englewood
A 20-year-old man was shot in the 5600 block of South Green Street about 3:30 p.m.
He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with a graze wound
to the chest. Someone fired 20 shots toward him, leaving shell casings all over
the ground, and grazed him once. Police described the man shot as
uncooperative.
2 16 year olds shot in Austin
At about 9 p.m, two 16-year-olds were shot in the 4900 block of West Ferdinand
Street in the Austin neighborhood. One was shot in the arm and the other in the
leg and both were taken to West Suburban Medical Center. Both are in good
condition
