Police said a family attacked a man who was robbing someone at gunpoint
outside their apartment late Saturday night.
Two men tried to rob a 33-year-old, who was shot during the attempt. He was
taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
He had been leaving an apartment near 79th Street and Greenwood Avenue in the
East Chatham neighborhood about 9:20 p.m. when two men approached to rob him.
Residents of the building, apparently not related to the man shot, saw what
was happening and threw items out their windows at the robbers. Police said the
items may have included ceramic dishes.
The two robbers and the 33-year-old went inside the apartment building and
while inside, the family beat and someone stabbed one attacker.
Police said one of the robbers, 31, was stabbed with a screwdriver and is in
critical condition. The other fled the scene. The 31-year-old is being held as a
suspect in the robbery and shooting

No need to drop a dime. Drop some dishes on these thugs. Dumbasses brought a gun to a dish fight. Good for the family, leave them free.
